30 Jahre Aufschlag Wien: Sport, Stolz & Gemeinschaft

Was 1996 als mutiges Projekt für Sichtbarkeit begann, ist heute eine feste Größe in Wien: Aufschlag feiert das 30. Jubiläum! Vom ersten Volleyball-Aufschlag bis zum Mehrspartenverein mit über 250 Mitgliedern – wir haben drei Jahrzehnte lang Räume geschaffen, in denen jeder sicher und stolz Sport treiben kann. Ob internationale Erfolge wie die EuroGames oder unsere jährlichen Turniere: Unser Motor war immer der Teamgeist unserer ehrenamtlichen Sektionsleiter*innen und Mitglieder. Wir feiern dieses Jahr nicht nur unsere Geschichte, sondern vor allem die Zukunft eines bunten, inklusiven Sports. Auf die nächsten 30 Jahre!

30 Years of Aufschlag: Sports, Pride & Community

What started in 1996 as a bold project for visibility has become a Viennese institution: Aufschlag is celebrating 30 years! From the very first volleyball serve to a multi-sport club with over 250 members, we’ve spent three decades creating spaces where everyone can play with pride. Whether through international success of the EuroGames or our annual events, our drive has always been the spirit of our volunteer leaders and members. Today, we don’t just celebrate our history, but the future of inclusive sports. Here’s to the next 30 years!

Vereinsinterne Updates

Volleyball

Die Volleyball-Sektion ist erfolgreich ins Sommersemester gestartet und hat 12 neue Mitglieder aufgenommen, die in fünf verschiedenen Levels trainieren. Seit April läuft die ausgebuchte Beachvolleyball-Saison am Vienna City Beach Club und am PVS-Sportplatz im 17. Bezirk. Außerdem gibt es Turniere im Juli und August, die bereits zur Hälfte ausgebucht sind. Ein weiteres Beachvolleyball-Turnier findet am 7. Juni im Vienna City Beach Club unter der Schirmherrschaft der Vienna Pride statt.

The volleyball section has successfully started the summer semester and welcomed 12 new members who will train in five different levels. Since April, the fully booked beach volleyball season started at the Vienna City Beach Club and at the PVS sports field in the 17th district. There are also tournaments in July and August, which are already half-booked. An additional beach volleyball tournament will take place on June 7th at the Vienna City Beach Club under the patronage of Vienna Pride.

FLINTA* Competitive Basketball – Highlights

Unsere Sektion wächst und gedeiht: 21 fixe Mitglieder und laufend neue Anfragen! Strukturell sind wir top aufgestellt: Ein großes Danke an Lia (Leitung), Katha (Halle & Erste Hilfe) und Mäx (Coach) für euren Einsatz.

Ein weiteres Highlight war das Faschingsfest mit der Hobby-Gruppe – laut, lustig und legendär. Danke an Birgit und Dani für die tolle Organisation und die Krapfen! Sportlich setzen wir auf Fortschritt: Das Freundschaftsspiel gegen Ararat war ein starker Auftakt für zukünftige Vernetzungen.

So geht es weiter:

• Training: Bis Mai indoor, ab Mai mittwochs (17–20 Uhr) in der Prießnitzgasse.
• Streetball: Am Wochenende findet ihr uns oft beim 25hours Hotel – schaut vorbei!
• International: Marguí, Steph und Lia treiben die Vernetzung voran. Nächstes Ziel: Das Panteres Grogues Tournament in Barcelona (18.–20.09.)!

FLINTA* Competitive Basketball – Highlights

Our section is thriving with 21 regular members and growing interest! A huge shoutout to our leadership team: Lia (Head of Section), Katha (Gym & First Aid), and Mäx (Coach) for keeping us on track.

We also had a blast celebrating Carnival with the hobby group – loud, fun, and just the way it should be. Thanks to Birgit and Dani for the organization and the treats! On the court, our progress is visible: the friendly match against Ararat was a fantastic start for new community connections.

What’s next:

• Training: Indoors until May; from May onwards, we’ll be at Prießnitzgasse on Wednesdays (5–8 PM).
• Streetball: Catch us on weekends near the 25hours Hotel – feel free to join!
• International: Marguí, Steph, and Lia are busy building external connections. Next highlight: the Panteres Grogues Tournament in Barcelona (Sept 18–20)!

Gelungener Einstand in der Queeren Badminton Liga

Am Samstag, den 11. April 2026, war Dresden Gastgeber eines Spieltags der Gruppe IV Ost der Queeren Badminton Liga QuBaLi. Teams aus Nürnberg, Leipzig, Dresden, Stuttgart und Wien kamen zusammen, um sich sportlich zu messen und gleichzeitig das zu leben, wofür die QuBaLi steht: Offenheit, Fairness und Gemeinschaft im Badminton. In spannenden Begegnungen zeigte sich einmal mehr die Vielfalt der Liga und das hohe spielerische Niveau auf den Feldern.

Besonderer Fokus lag an diesem Spieltag auf dem Team „Aufschlag Wien“, das zum ersten Mal überhaupt in der QuBaLi antrat. Für die Spieler aus Wien stand dabei nicht nur das Ergebnis im Vordergrund, sondern auch das Sammeln von Ligaerfahrung, der Austausch mit anderen Teams und das Ankommen in diesem besonderen sportlichen Umfeld. Der Einstand wurde von vielen spannende Matches, neuen Kontakten und spürbarem Teamgeist begleitet. Derzeit liegt der Aufschlag Wien auf dem 4. Platz der Gruppe IV Ost.

Successful Kick-off in the Queer Badminton League

On Saturday, April 11, 2026, Dresden hosted a match day for Group IV East of the Queer Badminton League (QuBaLi). Teams from Nuremberg, Leipzig, Dresden, Stuttgart, and Vienna gathered to compete and embody the core values of QuBaLi: openness, fairness, and community in badminton. The exciting matches once again showcased the league's diversity and the high level of play on the courts.

A special focus of the day was on the "Aufschlag Wien" team, which made its very first appearance in the QuBaLi. For the Viennese players, the priority was not just the final score, but also gaining league experience, connecting with other teams, and finding their place in this unique sporting environment. Their debut was marked by many thrilling matches, new contacts, and a palpable team spirit. Currently, Aufschlag Wien holds 4th place in Group IV East.

Deshalb erarbeiten wir aktuell spezifische Guidelines zur Gewaltprävention und suchen motivierte Mitglieder, die diese Leitlinien aktiv mitgestalten möchten. Egal, ob du Fachwissen in den Bereichen soziale Arbeit, Recht und Prävention mitbringst oder dich einfach für einen sicheren Vereinsraum engagieren willst: Wir laden dich herzlich ein, Teil unserer neuen Arbeitsgruppe zu werden!
